Kongsvoll

Kongsvoll (or Kongsvold) lies on the Pilgrim´s Route or old Kings' Road between Oslo and Trondheim in Norway.

King Øystein erected mountain stations along the route that pilgrims followed in visiting the shrine of St. Olav in Trondheim prior to the Reformation. The stations, where the pilgrims could find food and shelter, included Kongsvoll located on the Driva River in Oppdal. Kongsvoll was erected about 1100. It is still an inn today.
