- PVRTC
PVRTC -I and -II are a family of block basedtexture compression formats used inPowerVR 's MBX and SGX technologies. The PVRTC-I algorithm is documented in Simon Fenney's paper " [http://web.onetel.net.uk/~simonnihal/assorted3d/fenney03texcomp.pdf Texture Compression using Low-Frequency Signal Modulation] " that was presented at [http://www.graphicshardware.org/previous/www_2003/ Graphics Hardware 2003] .They differ from other block-based texture formats such as
S3TC and [http://graphics.cs.lth.se/research/papers/ipackman2005/ Ericsson texture Compression (ETC)] in that information is shared between immediately adjacent blocks, and that both 4-bpp and 2-bpp modes are supported.References
