Abbreviation : BKE; zh-sp|s=武吉知马高速公路|p="Wǔjízhīmǎ Gāosù Gōnglù"; Malay: "Lebuhraya Bukit Timah") is a highway inSingapore that starts at the PIE inBukit Timah and travels north to the Woodlands Checkpoint and theJohor-Singapore Causeway .Before the KJE was completed, BKE was the shortest expressway in Singapore, at about km to mi|num=10|abbr=no|spell=Commonwealth|precision=2|wiki=yes. This expressway is a six-lane
dual carriageway , with three lanes on either side. In 2003, the LTA began work to convert a section of the expressway, from the intersection with the KJE to that with the SLE, into a four-lane dual carriageway. This was completed in mid-2005.Features
