Pete Holland formed and became the main vocalist in a band called "99% Of Ethels", which also consisted of Graham Manville lead guitar, Christine Garner backing vocals & keyboards, Clank (real name not known, thought to be Andy) bass guitar, and Ian Marlowe as drummer.The band played mainly at venues in Liverpool and northwest England and developed a small but dedicated army of fans.
The main influences for "99% Of Ethels" were
Danielle Dax , OMD,Echo & The Bunnymen ,Pete Wylie and the very early Dead or Alive.Pete soon become bored with the 80's music scene and in January 1986 he moved to Tokyo, Japan where he formed a band called "Eastern Bongo" and released the album "Black Balsam." The album proved to be quite popular, a considerable fan base was soon established, and the band were regularly playing at medium sized venues to crowds of about 2000 people. At this time Pete also appeared in several Japanese television commercials.
Sometime in early 1986 it was rumoured that Pete was in a relationship with the actress
Seika Kuze . There was some speculation that they had married later that year but this was never confirmed.Fact|date=March 2008At the moment Pete is now back in the UK and is said to be working as a train driver for
