John Cowdery is a Republican member of the Alaska Senate, representing the O District since 2001. He was previously a member of the Alaska House of Representatives from 1982 through 1984, and from 1997 through 2000.

He was indicted in an FBI probe on July 10, 2008, charged with accepting bribes from former oil contracting company, Veco Corp.
