Frigg gas field is a
natural gas field in theNorth Sea , on the boundary between theUnited Kingdom andNorway . The field is named after the goddessFrigg . KingOlav V of Norway officially opened the production on theMay 8 1978 . Production was closed atoctober 26 2004 . The field is situated 230 km northwest ofStavanger . Operator for the field was the french oil companyElf Aquitaine , which merged and changed name toTotal S. A. .Pipelines connected to the Frigg field
