- Hort Baronets
The Hort Baronetcy, of Castle Strange in the County of Middlesex, is a title in the
Baronetage of Great Britain . It was created on8 September 1767 for John Hort,Consul-General atLisbon ,Portugal . He was the second son of The Right ReverendJosiah Hort ,Archbishop of Tuam . The second Baronet sat asMember of Parliament for Kildare from 1831 to 1832. The third Baronet was aLieutenant-General in theBritish Army and fought in theCrimean War . As of 13 June 2007 the presumed ninth and present Baronet has not successfully proven his succession to the title, and is therefore not on the Official Roll of the Baronetage, with the baronetcy considered dormant since 1995.
