Ewen James Hanning Cameron, Baron Cameron of Dillington, (born
24 November 1949 ) is a landowner and cross-bench member of theHouse of Lords .Educated at
Harrow School and atOxford University , where he studied modern history, he has been manager of the Dillington Estate in Somerset since 1971. He was national president of the Country Land and Business Association from 1995 to 1997 and was a member of the UK Government's Round Table for Sustainable Development from 1997 until 2000, when it was abolished to create theSustainable Development Commission . He was Chair of theCountryside Agency from 1999 to 2004 and was the UK Government's rural advocate for England from 2000 to 2004. He was raised to alife peerage as Baron Cameron of Dillington, of Dillington in the County ofSomerset on29 June 2004 , having been knighted the previous year. He is a Fellow of theRoyal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and of the Royal Agricultural Societies.
