Sir Edward Villiers

Sir Edward Villiers (c.1574– 7 Sep 1626) was the eldest son of Sir George Villiers and half-brother to George Villiers, 1st Duke of Buckingham, Christopher Villiers, 1st Earl of Anglesey and John Villiers, 1st Viscount Purbeck. In 1617-23 he served as Master of the Mint. He was nominated as a President of the Province of Munster in Ireland in 1622

He married Barbara St. John, nephew of Sir Oliver St John, 1st Viscount Grandison. They had four sons: 2nd Viscount Grandison, 3rd Viscount Grandison, 4th Viscount Grandison and Colonel Edward Villiers.
