Fishy Feline is a Garfield theatrical short that came to theaters on June 18, 1993 with Once Upon A Forest. It was later episode 279 of Garfield and Friends on October 2, 1993.

Episode recap

Jon, Garfield and Odie go fishing at the seashore. Jon tries to win a fishing contest, while Garfield says that he will fall off the pier five times before they leave. Jon fishes from the pier (and does indeed fall off several times); Garfield and Odie fish from the beach. Garfield thinks about how silly fishes are, and ends up having a dream sequence. He dreams that he had became a "catfish" (an obvious pun) and gets chased by a shark underwater. After finally losing the shark, he finds Jon's fish hook in the water and connects it to another hook. Then as he tugs on the line, Garfield finally wakes up and discovers he and Odie apparently got a fish. Jon assumes the same, and unwittingly almost pulls Garfield and Odie into the sea. Garfield ties the line to the bumper of a pier bus, and Jon is pulled through the water and out onto the shore.

They finally go home and Jon suggests buying some fish at the market. Garfield refuses, explaining that he has developed a whole new respect for sea creatures, after learning how dangerous being a fish can be. He and Odie then wonder how the fishing lines got connected, if he was only having a dream. Just as they are about to walk off the pier, Jon falls off for the fifth time, much to his pets' amusement.
