Texas Hospital Association

Texas Hospital Association

The Texas Hospital Association is a nonprofit trade association representing more than 85 percent of hospitals and health care systems in Texas. Founded in 1930, THA represents the interests of its member hospitals and health systems in both the legislative and regulatory arenas at the state and federal levels on key issues including uninsured/access to health care coverage, workforce shortages, and quality/patient safety. THA also offers educational programs, products and services for hospital professionals; as well as resources for health consumers.

THA’s organization [http://www.texashospitalsonline.org/AboutTHA/THAAffiliatesandSub0C69.asp] includes the following subsidiaries: HealthShare/THA, which markets THA-endorsed vendor companies; and Texas Hospital Insurance NetworK, which provides insurance products to doctors and hospitals (especially smaller facilities) through the Texas Hospital Insurance Exchange [http://www.thainsurance.com/Home.asp] . THA also has relationships with affiliates, including Texas Healthcare Trustees, that strengthen the association’s support for Texas hospitals.
