The Berlin Lacrosse Club, also known as BLAX, was founded in 1993 [http://www.phil-ffo.de/GERMAN%20HISTORY.htm] in
Berlin ,Germany . The Club competes in several Germanlacrosse leagues such as the Bundesliga Ost(men's) and the Bundesliga Nord (women's). Berlin Lacrosse Club operates as a non profit organization and is a member of the [http://www.dlaxv.de/ German Lacrosse Association (DLAXV)]Internationally, the club is known for hosting the annual Berlin Open Lacrosse Tournament that has attracted teams from all over the world with a mix of competitive action and festivities and night. The tournament is traditionally held on the Maifeld [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olympic_Stadium_(Berlin)#Maifeld] adjacent to the
Berlin Olympic Stadium which was erected for the 1936 Olympic Games.The Berlin Lacrosse Club has often benefited from the participation of American lacrosse players, both female and male, that were visiting Berlin.
Berlin Lacrosse Club was conceived after two former German exchange students who happened to have played lacrosse at their respective high schools in the US met at a social in Berlin, Germany. They there decided to start the sport of Lacrosse in Germany.
