Abraham's family tree

The following is a family tree for the descendants of the line of Noah's son Shem, through Abraham to Jacob and his sons.

Genealogical Oddities:

1. Nahor married his niece, Milcah. Niv|Genesis|11:27-32|Genesis 11:27-32

2. Lot was both father and grandfather of Moab and Benammi. Following the death of Lot's wife (turned into a pillar of salt Niv|Genesis|19:26|Genesis 19:26), Lot's two daughters plied him with alcohol so that they could sleep with him, and thus keep the family alive; they bore Moab and Benammi Niv|Genesis|19:30-36|Genesis 19:30-36. Moab sired the Moabite tribe, and Benammi the Ammonite tribe.

3. Jacob married Leah and Rachel, both daughters of his uncle Laban, and also received Zilpah (handmaid of Leah) and Bilhah (handmaid of Rachel) from Laban as concubines. Niv|Genesis|29-30|Genesis 29-30

4. Esau took as one of his wives Mahalath, daughter of his father's half-brother. Niv|Genesis|28:8-9|Genesis 28:8-9
