"Zapotecia "Acanthodrilidae is an ancient and widely distributed family of
earthworm s which has native representatives inAustralia ,New Zealand ,South Africa ,South America andNorth America . Interestingly, no native species are known fromIndia (cf.Octochaetidae ) norAsia . The family possibly shows a pre-Pangaea n distribution.Membership requires an 'acanthodriline' arrangement of male pores and holoic nephridia.
