The Lavida, to be manufactured by Shanghai Volkswagen Automotive, will be based on Volkswagen Group PQ34 platform and components which is shared with the Golf Mk4.

The new sedan developed by Shanghai Volkswagen will debut at Auto China 2008 in Beijing, with two engine options a 1.6L and a 2.0L.

Engines

The Lavida has two engine options, 1.6L and 2.0L Petrol engine. The 1.6L engine also powers Polo Mk4sedan, the 2.0L engine powers Volkswagen Passat.
