Howard Mosby

Howard Mosby (born June 20, 1961) is a member of the Georgia House of Representatives.

Biography

Mosby was first elected in 2002 and is completing his third 2-year term as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives, District 90 representing communities in southwest DeKalb County and northwestern Henry County Georgia. Representative Mosby has served as the Secretary of the House of Representatives Administrative Services Committee, and Chairman of the Subcommittee on Rural, Urban, and Local Legislation on the House State Planning and Community Affairs Committee, as well as on the Banks and Banking Committee. He currently serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, Rules Committee, the powerful House Health and Human Services Committee, and the House Governmental Affairs Committee.

Representative Mosby comes from an active political background. Currently, his sister, the Honorable Natalyn Mosby Archibong [ [http://apps.atlantaga.gov/citycouncil/bios/5.htm Atlanta City Council ] ] serves as an elected Councilmember on the Atlanta City Council. His oldest brother, David, is also serving as an elected Councilmember on the Oak Ridge Tennessee City Council [http://www.cortn.org/council/mosby.htm] . Paving the way in DeKalb County for most African American politicians, his father, the late Honorable Nathaniel “Nate” Mosby served as the second African American to the DeKalb County Commission. Nate Mosby was also Chairman of the DeKalb Community Relations Commission, and also served as the DeKalb community representative on the Atlanta Regional Commission. The elder Mosby was employed as one of the first African American managers with the Federal Aviation Administration.
