Ziva Kunda

Ziva Kunda

Ziva Kunda (born June 13, 1955 - February 24, 2004) [cite web |url=http://www.bulletin.uwaterloo.ca/2004/feb/26th.html |title=Psychology professor is mourned |accessdate=2008-08-19] was a social psychologist well-known for her work in social cognition. She obtained her Ph.D. at the University of Michigan and was the author of the classic text " [http://mitpress.mit.edu/catalog/item/default.asp?sid=0AB6598D-1106-4742-A585-0D46133482D4&ttype=2&tid=4382 Social Cognition: Making Sense of People] ". At the time of her death, she was a professor of psychology at the University of Waterloo, Canada. She was married to Paul Thagard, a professor of philosophy at the University of Waterloo.

Awards

Her paper "The Case for Motivated Reasoning," published in Psychological Bulletin in 1990, posthumously received the Scientific Impact Award from the Society of Experimental Social Psychology.
