Parakar ( _hy. Փարաքար, also Romanized as P’arak’ar; formerly, Shirabad) is a town in the Armavir Province of Armenia. The 2001 census for the whole community, which includes the nearby town of Tairov, was 7,211. The town has a gypsum mine and its Saint Harutyun church dates from 1855.
