Ticino , located south ofLake Lugano in the southernmost tip ofSwitzerland .The village has a population of 970 inhabitants and an area of 8.53 km².
Arogno's territory borders with the Swiss villages of
Maroggia ,Bissone and Rovio. It also borders with the city ofLugano and to the west with the Italian enclave ofCampione . Arogno sits right on the border between Italy and Switzerland and on its territory there is also a border post.Of notable artistic value are its church dedicated to
Saint Stephen , the village's patron, and some chapels and smaller churches spread all over the village's territory.Arogno is the perfect starting place for hiking trips on Monte Generoso.
