Vladimir Dominus Imperita Electus "Vlad" Dracula is a fictional character from the BBC television series Young Dracula. He is the main character and son of Count Dracula. He has appeared in every episode and is played by Gerran Howell.

Profile

Vladimir "Vlad" Dracula is the Count's "son and heir" and it is around him, mainly, that the series revolves. Unlike his sister Ingrid, Vlad would much prefer to be a normal child than a vampire, although he does occasionally show elements of his father's wit and ability to manipulate people. He finds friendship with outcasts Robin and Chloe Branaugh as well as his sarcastic stuffed wolf, Zoltan. He is very exasperated by his father's complete ignorance of human life.

Moving to Britain

Count Dracula, along with Vlad and his sister Ingrid, moved to Stokely in the United Kingdom from Transylvania to avoid angry peasant mobs. They then moved into a partly-ruined castle at the top of a hill, that Vlad stated he bought off the internet.

As part of his dream to become normal, Vlad joined various different organisations, namely Stokely Grammar School, as well as the rugby team, chess club and Scouts.

The Chosen One

It is revealed in the episode Insomnia in the second series that Vlad is 'the chosen one' - destined to become the Grand High Vampire and lead the vampires out of hiding.

Family

* Count Dracula - Father.
* Magda Westenra - Mother.
* Ingrid Dracula - Sister. Seeks to annoy Vlad and really wants to become a vampire, although she is ignored by the Count.
* Vladimir - Half-Brother. A werewolf whom Magda tried to make the Count think was his own son, however Vlad eventually managed to prove he was Patrick's
* Patrick - Stepfather. A werewolf who Magda 'ran away with'.
* Count Dracos - Grandfather. Never seen, but mentioned once by Renfield as being Count Dracula's father.
* Atilla Westenra - Grandfather. Magda's father who only speaks in an unknown language and uses a wheelchair.
* Krone Westenra - Grandmother. Magda's mother who insists upon every vampire carrying out 'vampire morals' and is disgusted by the Dracula family's lack of them.
* Ivan Dracula - Uncle. Dracula's younger brother who tries to become blood-free, much to Vlad's liking, but is restored to being evil once he smells the blood of Eric Van Helsing.
* Olga Dracula - Cousin. Ivan's daughter. Does not interact very much with Vlad, but seeks to annoy Ingrid as much as possible.
* Boris Dracula - Cousin. Ivan's son. Did not want to be a vampire, but had to go through with the transformation anyway and turned evil. Murdered the Grand High Vampire and Justice Moori.
