In Medias Res is an indie rock band from Vancouver, British Columbia, consisting of Andrew Lee (lead vocals and guitar), Steve Watts (drums and backup vocals), Ash Poon (lead guitar), and Ryan Flowers (bass). In the band's history, they have released two EP's and one full-length album, "Of What Was". A second LP is due for release sometime in 2008.

Of What Was

After selling out 500 copies of their second EP, "Intimacy", [citeweb|title=In Medias Res - Of What Was|url=http://www.anniedale.com/IMR_onesheet.pdf|publisher=Anniedale Records|accessdate=2008-02-29] In Medias Res independently released "Of What Was", their first full-length album, in 2003 to favourable local reviews. The album was produced by Jonathan Anderson of Jonathan Inc., an indie act also from Vancouver, of whom In Medias Res has worked and performed with extensively.

Live show

In Medias Res' live show is defined by copious amounts of energy and on-stage movement. Aside from playing local venues in Vancouver extensively, In Medias Res has also toured significantly in the Canadian Prairies, and in 2005, embarked on a three-month trans-North American tour than included a hometown show at the Pacific Coliseum. In Medias Res has shared the stage with such notable acts as Pedro the Lion/David Bazan, Death From Above 1979, Rosie Thomas, You Say Party! We Say Die!, Ladyhawk, Stabilo, and Damien Jurado.
