The Bees were a U.S. garage band hailing from Southern California around 1965 to 1966, who recorded the early psychedelic classic "Voices Green and Purple"
Among them is Dave Johnson, a guitarist who lived in Rowland Heights and attended Nogales high School in Walnut, Ca. They were managed by Mickey McKee and some of the other members lived in La Puente and LaVerne, Ca. They recorded on the small independent label called Liverpool, and the lead singer prided himself on sounding a lot like Mick Jagger. The band is important because they are believed to be one of the first groups to record a song about an LSD trip experience, in this case a "bad" one.
