Los Angeles Times Grand Prix
- Los Angeles Times Grand Prix
The Los Angeles Times Grand Prix (held at the Riverside International Raceway) was sponsored by the Times to produce money for its charities. The Special Events director was Glenn Davis, the winner of the 1946 Heisman Trophy. His secretary was Joanna Gorner, who had been Carroll Shelby's secretary when he was beginning his Cobra team. Will Kern was Glenn's assistant. They produced the race from 1957 to the late-80s. Some of the greatest drivers in the world participated. This was the season ending race for The Canadian-American Challenge Cup or Can-Am series.
