- Sakai Masahisa

November 26 ,1570 ) was a Japanesesamurai of theSengoku Period , who most notably served theOda clan . He was born inMino Province , and first served theSaitō clan . After the fall of the Saitō, he was taken on as a retainer byOda Nobunaga . He was particularly active during the time ofOda Nobunaga 's entry intoKyoto . In late 1568, Masahisa joinedShibata Katsuie ,Hachiya Yoritaka , andMori Yoshinari in attackingIwanari Tomomichi 'sShōryūji Castle .Later, Masahisa was also present at the
Siege of Odani (1573). In 1570, while under attack from Asai forces underIsono Kazumasa , he lost his son Kyūzō. Masahisa himself died soon after, at theBattle of Katada . Family headship was thus inherited by his 2nd son, Sakai "Etchū no kami".References
