Lozells and East Handsworth is a ward in Birmingham, England, created at the June 2004 elections. It is within the formal district of Perry Barr.

The ward covers the areas of Handsworth, Lozells and Handsworth Park.

Politics

As of 2006, the Ward is represented on Birmingham City Council by Mahmood Hussain, Kim Brom and Don Brown all from the Labour Party.

The seat can be regarded as 'safe' Labour territory and was held despite a vote rigging scandal in nearby Aston and the Iraq War. The Ward has suffered from a recent upsurge in inter-community tension following the 2005 Birmingham riots.
