Leila Abashidze (In Georgian ლეილა აბაშიძე) (born 1st of August, 1929, Tbilisi) is Georgian actress, director and writer.
Biography and Career
Leila Abashidze graduated from Rustaveli Theatrical Institute in Tbilisi, Georgia. She has Been working in "Georgian film" Since 1940. In 1941 she played the role of Kato in "Kajana". Leila Abashidze had many comedy and drama roles throughout her career: Luta ("Golden path", 1945), Nazibrola ("Cradle of poet", 1947), Nino ("Spring in Sakeni", 1950), Marine ("The Cricket", 1954), Lela ("They Came from the Mountains", 1955), Lia ("Abezara", 1956), Manana ("Our yard", 1956), Maia ("Maia Tskneteli", 1959), Mzia ("Where is your happyness Mzia?", 1959), Dagmara ("I will dance", 1962), Dzidzia ("Khevisberi Gocha", 1964), Nino ("Facing the Past", 1966), Mzevinari, Lali ("Meeting in the Mountains", 1966), Vardisakhari ("Didostatis Marjvena", 1969), Ketevani ("Anticipation", 1970), Leila ("Walking in Tbilisi", 1977), ("Cinema", 1977), ("Tbilisi - Parisi - Tbilisi", 1980), Manana ("Oromtriali", 1986), ("Zvaraki", 1990).
She is the writer of "Anticipation" (1970), "Silence of Towers" (1978). She is director, writer and the leading actress of "Tbilisi - Parisi - Tbilisi" (1980). Member of cinematographer's union sice 1958.
