Whiteness, Shetland

Whiteness (Old Norse: "Hvitanes", meaning "white headland") is a hamlet and parish in the Shetland Islands, on Mainland. The hamlet lies seven miles north north west of Lerwick. The parish is now merged with Tingwall.
