Grant is Noah Praetorius, a doctor with unorthodox but effective methods of treating patients. Crain portrays an unmarried pregnant woman, who Dr. Praetorius first treats and later marries. Cronyn plays Dr. Elwell, an envious colleague of Dr. Praetorius, who attempts to discredit him before a board of review.
