Marie Emilie Snethlage (1868 - 1929) was a German-born Brazilian ornithologist who worked on the bird fauna of the Amazon.

Snethlage collected in Brazil from 1905 to her death. Marie Emilie Snethlage was a doctor in Natural Philosophy and had been a zoological assistent at the Berlin Natural History Museum before being hired by Emílio Goeldi for the natural history museum in Belém. She was the director of the Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi between 1914 and 1922. She wrote the "Catálogo das Aves Amazônicas" (1914).

The Madeira Parakeet "Pyrrhura snethlageae", described as new to science in 2002, was named in her honour.
