Madeleine Moon MP (born March 27, 1950, Sunderland) is the Labour MP for Bridgend. She was elected in the 2005 general election, after Win Griffiths stood down.

Born in the North East of England, Moon has lived and worked around Bridgend for over 29 years, is former mayor of Porthcawl and has been a councillor for Porthcawl for 13 years. She is married to ecologist Steve, with one son David.

She launched Crossroads in Porthcawl, caring for carers. She represented Bridgend Council on the Sports Council for Wales, on Tourism South and West Wales and was National Chair of the British Resorts Association from 1999 to 2001.

Madeleine Moon is PPS (Parliamentary Private Secretary) to Jim Knight MP in the newly formed Department for Children, Schools and Families.

Mrs Moon is currently receiving a higher public profile related to the suicides of young people from her constituency (see article Bridgend suicide incidents). She has agreed with South Wales Police that the suicides are not connected but has been critical of media coverage.
