The Pacific gecko or Pacific sticky-toed gecko, "Hoplodactylus pacificus", is a species of gecko in the family Gekkonidae.

Distribution

The Pacific gecko is endemic to New Zealand, found only on the North Island and offshore islands.

Habitat

Lives on the ground, but will climb trees. Found in a variety of habitats.

Description

The markings on this species may often be brighter and with greater contrast compared to the common gecko, "Hoplodactylus maculatus".

Length is up to 95 mm, snout to vent.

Ecology

Nocturnal, hiding during the day, and rarely seen basking.
