Soberanía National Park ("Parque Nacional Soberanía") is a
national park inPanama near the banks of thePanama Canal in the provinces of Panamá and Colón, some 25 km fromPanama City . TheChagres River runs through the park.Established as a national park in 1980, the park covers 55,000 acres. bird species in the park, includingmotmot s,toucan s,trogon s,flycatcher s,antbird s,woodpecker s,tanager s andhawk s. Among the rarer bird species in the park are yellow-eared toucanets, crimson-bellied woodpeckers,sirystes and rarely seenharpy eagle s.Mammal s in the park include white-faced capuchin monkeys, mantled howler monkeys,Geoffroy's tamarin s,two-toed sloth s,three-toed sloth s,anteater s,coati s andagouti s.Green iguana s are also found in the park.
