- Jabuka (island)
Jabuka (which means
apple in Croation) is an uninhabitedvolcanic island in theAdriatic sea ,west of theisland ofVis .Flora &Fauna Its
coast is steep and difficult to reach, and landings can be made only when theweather is clear. Then you can access the island from the southwest side. On the island, the endemicspecies black lizard (Podarcis melisellensis pomoensis ) and plants are protectedendemic s -Centaurea jabukensis andCentaurea crithmifolia ; both are in the family ofAsteraceae . In1958 the island was declared a geological monument of nature.The surrounding sea is rich with
fish , especiallyabramis .Geological features

meter s tallcliff s. All sea lanes avoid the island (probably because its magnetic form confusescompass es), and recently it has become a yachtspeople target.
