It is approximately 6 miles north ofScranton, Pennsylvania in the growing suburban area known as the "Abingtons."Glenburn is also located north ofClarks Summit, Pennsylvania and bordersDalton, Pennsylvania to the south.Geography

United States Census Bureau , the CDP has a total area of 4.9square mile s (12.7km² ), of which, 4.7 square miles (12.3 km²) of it is land and 0.2 square miles (0.4 km²) of it (3.27%) is water.Demographics
As of the
census GR|2 of 2000, there were 1,212 people, 471 households, and 341 families residing in the CDP. Thepopulation density was 255.7 people per square mile (98.7/km²). There were 503 housing units at an average density of 106.1/sq mi (41.0/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 97.36% White, 0.08% African American, 0.25% Native American, 1.24% Asian, 0.17% from other races, and 0.91% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.57% of the population.There were 471 households out of which 32.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.6% were married couples living together, 7.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.6% were non-families. 25.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.56 and the average family size was 3.08.
In the CDP the population was spread out with 25.7% under the age of 18, 6.3% from 18 to 24, 27.0% from 25 to 44, 26.2% from 45 to 64, and 14.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females there were 92.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.2 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP was $44,750, and the median income for a family was $59,063. Males had a median income of $43,333 versus $30,833 for females. The
