During the International Conference of Social Work of 1950 in Paris, the organization was reorganized as the International Federation of Social Workers. Originally, seven national social worker organizations agreed to become members. However, this new association was not officially founded until 1956 at the International Conference on Social Welfare in Munich, Germany.cite web|title =History of the IFSW |publisher =International Federation of Social Workers |date =November 23, 2005 |url =http://www.ifsw.org/en/p38000040.html |accessdate =2008-02-22]
