This album = "Guide to Better Living" (1998)
Next album = "Pushing Buttons " (1998)"Guide to Better Living" is the debut
album byAustralian rock groupGrinspoon . It was released in 1998 and includes the hit "Champion". This song was used on "Gran Turismo 3", although in an edited version, omitting the profanity during the coda. The album was named after a
Sunbeam booklet ofwhite goods from the 1960s, while the logo on the album looks like the Sunbeam logo. Grinspoon insisted on recording their album locally inByron Bay rather than heading for a big city studio. The album reached #12 on the ARIA charts and spent 26 weeks on the national charts. The album later went on to achieve double platinum status and generated a number of hit singles, includingDC x 3 ,Repeat , andDon't Go Away .The album does not have a
Parental Advisory sticker in the United States, although the songs "Sickfest", "DC x 3" "Railrider", "Repeat", "NBT", "Champion", and "Truk" all have profanities on them. The American version, which omits "Just Ace", "Balding Matters" and "Don't Go Away" due to their soft style, was a commercial failure, despite airplay of "Post Enebriated Anxiety", although the song "Champion", via Gran Turismo 3, introduced Grinspoon to the public. Currently, this is the only complete album listing on WindowsMedia.com, along with
Licker Bottle Cozy .The album, in
Australia , was released with 5 bonus tracks containing a full live performance atGrudgefest , a music festival hosted by the artists onGrudge Records , the former label of Grinspoon.Videos were made for "Just Ace", "Post Enebriated Anxiety", and "Repeat". The latter two were released as promotional items in America with a live album.
