Jefferson D. Powell or Jeff Powell is an amateur boxer out of Angleton, TX who fought in matches sanctioned by the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation. [ [http://www.leecanalito.com/ Lee Canalito Boxing ] ] . Known as the Hurricane, Powell was in three sanctioned matches, and won all three. He defeated Tyrone Gibson of Houston Texas in three rounds by knockout at 1:11 of round 3. His second match was a TKO of round two when he defeated the younger brother of Joan Guzmán, Hector Guzman of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. His third victory came against Shane Tripplet by knockout at :38 of round five.

Powell injured his shoulder by tearing his coracohumeral ligament training for his fourth match in 2001 and has yet to return to the ring. Powell remains at 3 wins- 0 losses. It has yet to be stated if he ever plans to return to the ring.
