Corbeil Buses

Corbeil Bus is a former school and commercial bus manufacturer, based out of St-Lin-Laurentides (near Montreal Quebec) Canada.

Corbeil Buses were renowned for their high quality construction, utilizing light weight components, which allowed for many flexible floorplans. Being built in Canada, Corbeil made a bus that was virtually immune to winter conditions, which made it an extremely popular bus not only in Canada, but in the Northeast United States, particularly New York State.

Corbeil's largest dealers outside of Canada were Don Brown Bus Sales of Johnstown, NY and Gorman Enterprises of Elma, NY. New York State made up the majority of Corbeil's overall sales, thanks to strong dealers, state contract pricing, and a quality product.

Outside of the Type A buses, Corbeil built conventional and rear engine buses mostly on International chassis, but also some Freightliner FS-65 chassis. These large buses were reserved only for Canada, as Corbeil did not want to enter the highly competitive US market.

In September 2007, after a few years of declining business, Corbeil shut down operations, and Collins Bus purchased assets, including designs, naming rights, and warranty. Collins will now market the Corbeil name throughout Canada, and as special order buses in the United States.
