Rajim Kumbh

Rajim Kumbh (Devanagari: राजिम कुम्भ or कुंभ)is a Hindu pilgrimage, very large gathering of people and religious gurus every year at Rajim.

History

Rajim is Vaishnav Pilgrim Center from ancient times. It is also a known Shaiv dharma center. In old time it used to be the camping station on way of pilgrimage for north and south pilgrims as well as business persons called Sarthvah. The ritual of Kalpvas was performrd at Rajim just like it is at Prayag. The religious congregation at Rajim is 'fifth Kumbh' now which used to be the traditional 'Punni mela' observed every year at the famous Rajiv Lochan temple located near the confluence of Mahanadi, Sondur and Pairi rivers.

Rituals performed

People start coming to Rajim one day before and take part in the special pooja performed at mid night at 3.00pm. The temples are must to visit namely Shri Kuleshwar Mahadev and Shri Rajiv Lochan. They used to take holi bath in Triveni Sangam.

Chhattisgarh is located at heart of India.Rajim is located at heart of ChhattisgarhRajim is also located in district Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh.The holy confluence of three rivers Mahanadi (Chitrotpala), Pairi and Sondur, called The Triveni Sangam is at Rajim.

Shri Rajiv Lochan Mandir, The Rajiv Lochan temple is located in Rajim.And many more temples and ashram, the seat of God and spiritual Guru are loacted at Rajim.

Thousands of Sadhu, Sant, Mahatama, Rishi, Muni and Margdarshak Guru are coming to Rajim Kumbh.Auspicious start of Rajim Kumbh 2008 is from 21 February 2008 and the gracious end is on 06 March 2008.

03.03.2008 --- Vijaya Ekadashi
