Sheffield City Swimming Club is the longest established competitive swimming club in Sheffield, and they train at a number of pools across the city of Sheffield, including Ponds Forge International Pool.

They have been accredited with the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) as a Swim21 club since 2003 and have also achieved Sport England Clubmark status. These kitemarks indicate that the club provide a safe sporting environment for swimmers of all ages and follow best practice in child protection, club administration, coach education, and swimmer development.

Swimmers of Sheffield City Swimming Club compete in a wide range of Team Galas and Swim Meets, including the Yorkshire and North East Swimming Championships.

The club has four squads:

•The Development level is aimed at swimmers under 13 who are starting out in competitive swimming and aims to provide four sessions per week to swimmers.

•The SwimFit squad is for swimmers whose primary aim is health and fitness training (rather than swimming competitively), or for swimmers who are still developing the capacity for intensive training.

•The County B squad is for competitive swimmers who are heading towards County squad or are too old to remain in the Development squad.

•The County A squad are swimmers who have reached county standard, competing regularly and who can cope with training in the county squad sessions.
