Thomas J. Healey is a Senior Fellow and Adjunct Lecturer at
Harvard University ’sJohn F. Kennedy School of Government where he teaches the course in Financial Institutions and Markets. He is also involved in various alternative investment activities through Healey Development LLC.Mr. Healey joined
Goldman, Sachs & Co. in 1985 to create the Real Estate Capital Markets Group, and founded the Pension Services Group in 1990. He became a Partner in 1988 and a Managing Director in 1996. He remains a Senior Director ofGoldman Sachs . Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Mr. Healey served as Assistant Secretary of theU.S. Treasury for Domestic Finance under PresidentRonald Reagan . Before joining theU.S. Treasury , he spent eight years atDean Witter Reynolds , Inc., where he was head of the Corporate Finance Department.At
Goldman Sachs , Mr. Healey was Co-Chairman of the Retirement Committee and Co-Chief Investment Officer of the Central States Teamsters Pension Fund, managed byGoldman Sachs . He also served on theU.S. Department of Labor 'sERISA Advisory Council, and was a Presidentially-appointed Director of the Securities Industry Protection Corporation.Mr. Healey is Chairman of the
Rockefeller Foundation Investment Committee and is actively involved with other charitable institutions, including the Trustees of Reservations in Boston, Morristown Memorial Health Foundation, and theMaryknoll Missionaries. He was instrumental in guiding the fundraising for St. Mary's Mission Hospital inNairobi ,Kenya . Mr. Healey also serves on a number of educational boards, includingGeorgetown University , theHoover Institution ,Portsmouth Abbey School,Delbarton School, Resurrection School, and the Tri-County Scholarship Fund.Mr. Healey is a
Chartered Financial Analyst and a Counselor of Real Estate. He speaks and writes frequently on such investment-related topics as global pension fund management, the growth of defined contribution plans,real estate ,alternative investments , soft dollars, andSocial Security .Mr. Healey graduated from
Georgetown University in 1964 andHarvard Business School in 1966. In 1967, he was a recipient of aSheldon Traveling Fellowship fromHarvard .References
