Nils Romander

Nils Gustaf Daniel Romander (July 3, 1893 – October 1, 1978) was a Swedish sport shooter who competed in the 1912 Summer Olympics, finishing fifth in the 300 metre military rifle, three positions competition.^[1]

Personal life

Romander was born to Axel Gustaf Ansgarius Romander and his wife Alma, née Lundblad. In 1917 he was married to Ester von Steinbeck, with whom he had three sons.

Romander served as a cavalry officer with the personal consent of then King of Sweden Gustav V to pursue his shooting ambitions. After 1926, he became an officer in the Royal Swedish Air Force and was later appointed colonel.

Apart from his military career, Romander held several political offices in the local governments of Kristianstad County, Scania Province, and Lidingö Municipality.
