Declan O'Dwyer (director)

Declan O'Dwyer (born 1 August 1968, Ireland) is a writer Producer and film & television director.

Declan has directed an ‘afternoon play’ adaptation of an Andy McNab novella, The Grey Man and the adaptation of the Val McDermid’s Torment of Others (Best Crime Novel of the Year 1995). BBC’s flagship Robin Hood (Saturn Award Nomination for Best International Series). He also went to Austin Texas to shoot TV movie Prayer of the Bone (Nominated in the ‘Crime Thriller of the Year’ awards 2008 and won an Edgar Allen Poe Award for best teleplay 2009) before directing the pilot episode of British supernatural drama Being Human - which went onto launch the critically acclaimed series.

Since 2009, Declan has been working as one of the core directors on medical drama Casualty.

He is the owner and executive of production outfit 4th Wall Films Ltd.

• June 2011 scheduled to be directing hard-hitting British thriller Dogs of Law starring Luke Evans and Robert Carlyle.
• 2012 slated to direct feature film Broken Cove. With Bernard Hill, Linda Bassett, Danny Dyer and Zita Sattar.
