STS (gene)

Steroid sulfatase (microsomal), arylsulfatase C, isozyme S, also known as STS, is a human gene.cite web | title = Entrez Gene: STS steroid sulfatase (microsomal), arylsulfatase C, isozyme S| url = http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?Db=gene&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSearch=412| accessdate = ]

PBB_Summary
section_title =
summary_text = The protein encoded by this gene catalyzes the conversion of sulfated steroid precursors to estrogens during pregnancy. The encoded protein is found in the endoplasmic reticulum, where it acts as a homodimer. Mutations in this gene are known to cause X-linked ichthyosis (XLI).cite web | title = Entrez Gene: STS steroid sulfatase (microsomal), arylsulfatase C, isozyme S| url = http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?Db=gene&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSearch=412| accessdate = ]
