Horn Park was one of three parks attached to
Eltham Palace . The area was heavily wooded and was stocked withdeer until the destruction of both during theEnglish Civil War . Horn Park is close to several
A roads . To the east Sidcup Road, aduel carriageway and part of theA20 road passes by in a northwest to southeast direction; and also marks the postal boundary. Westhorne Avenue, another duel carriageway and part of theA205 south circular road passes through east to west at the north side of Horn Park. Sidcup Road and Westhorne Avenue cross each other at aroundabout named Clifton's Roundabout or informally World of Leather Roundabout after the shop, which was previously located there. Baring Road and Burnt Ash Hill, part of theA2212 is only about 500m west of Horn Park and passes in north south direction.Railway
Horn Park does not have its own railway station, although the
Dartford Loop Line passes through northwest to southeast at the northern end of Horn Park. On this lineLee railway station is less than 1 km (0.6 miles) west of Horn Park, andMottingham railway station about 1.5 km (1 mile) to the east;Grove Park railway station is about 1.5 km (1 mile) south of Horn Park, on theSouth Eastern Main Line .References
