The Eparchy of Bratislava ( _la. Eparchia Bratislaviensis) is an
eparchy of theSlovak Greek Catholic Church which covers the territory of western and central Slovakia, i.e., Bratislava, Trnava, Nitra, Trenčín, Žilina and Banská Bystrica regions (around 33,300 km²). The eparchy is a suffragan to the metropolitanArcheparchy of Prešov . Its cathedral is the Church of the Holy Feast of the Cross in centralBratislava .History
The eparchy was established on
30 January 2008 byHoly Father Benedict XVI and its current bishop isPeter Rusnák . The approximate number of Greek Catholic faithful in the whole eparchy as of 2008 may be around 25,000.
