Silurian trilobite in the order Phacopida. The species name is derived from perceived similarities in appearance to the modern-day horseshoe crab "Limulus ". They can be noticed by the prominent, semicircular, schizochroal eyes and by the sharp spike extinding back from the center of thepygidium .The most famous and detailed specimens of "D. limulurus" are found in the Middle Silurian Rochester Shale Formation of western
New York (USA ).
