Paddy Lowe (born
April 8 1962 ) is the Engineering Director of theMcLaren Formula One racing team.Career
In 1984, Lowe graduated from
Sidney Sussex College ,Cambridge University in 1984 with a degree in engineering. In 1987 he was employed by Williams F1 as Joint Head of Electronics. His move to McLaren occurred in 1993 when he was employed as Head of Research and Development, a department subsequently renamed "Vehicle Technology". He was head of the department for eight years until, in 2001, he was appointed Chief Engineer Systems Development, a role focusing on the race programme for theMcLaren MP4-20 . In May 2005 he assumed the role of Engineering Director, which gives him responsibility for all the engineering departments.
