United States Census Bureau , the township has a total area of 30.1square mile s (78.0km² ), all of it land.Demographics
As of the
census GR|2 of 2000, there were 1,502 people, 574 households, and 443 families residing in the township. Thepopulation density was 49.9 people per square mile (19.3/km²). There were 615 housing units at an average density of 20.4/sq mi (7.9/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 98.74% White, 0.07% African American, 0.47% Asian, and 0.73% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.33% of the population.There were 574 households out of which 31.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.7% were married couples living together, 6.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.8% were non-families. 19.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.62 and the average family size was 3.00.
In the township the population was spread out with 23.9% under the age of 18, 7.9% from 18 to 24, 28.8% from 25 to 44, 25.3% from 45 to 64, and 14.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 107.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 102.7 males.
The median income for a household in the township was $31,622, and the median income for a family was $35,185. Males had a median income of $28,800 versus $18,452 for females. The
