Patricia Caswell (Tricia Caswell) is Founder and CEO of Caswell + Associates: Sustainability Experts. Tricia and her teams specialise in advising business and industry on sustainability issues of the day.
She has most recently been CEO of Victorian Association of Forest Industries (VAFI), from 2004 - 2007, developing the forest industry's policies and practices around sustainability.
Biography
Tricia was the Founding Executive Director of the Global Sustainability Institute at
RMIT University from October 2000 to June 2004.In the 1980’s she was a Trade Union Leader and a Member of the
ACTU Executive. In 1992 Tricia became Executive Director of theAustralian Conservation Foundation (ACF) and in 1995 Executive Director ofPlan International . She has a long standing interest in all things public, political and artistic and has developed specialist expertise in the areas of sustainability, local and global.Tricia has been a representative on many public and private organisations in Australia and internationally. These include the National Commission for
UNESCO , The Australia Council, Uluru-Kata Juta National Park Board,RMIT University Council and Chair of Circus Oz. Present Tricia presently holds a number of Board and Advisory positions especially around sustainability, at State and National levels.Early career
Tricia began her working life as a teacher at Secondary then TAFE and Tertiary levels. She became one of the nation’s first women trade union leaders; General Secretary of the Teachers Trade Union of Victoria, an elected Industrial Officer at the Victorian Trades Hall Council and a member of the ACTU Executive.
Speaker and writer
Since 1980 Tricia has been a keynote speaker and has had many articles/chapters published in relation to her work. She has also co-edited a book “Protecting the Future”, Stories of Sustainability from
